The Academy Freshman Is the Hidden Disciple of a Legendary School

"Are you really that afraid of this school of magic—?"

Walking through the royal capital is a young man named Arc. Today is the day of the magic academy's entrance exam. In a world where a mage's strength is defined by their magical school, Arc belongs to none. Even so, he optimistically sets his sights on passing—until he stumbles upon a fellow examinee burned to a crisp.

The exam's objective is simple: "Defeat the other examinees."

The match has already been decided, yet the rival examinee moves in to deliver a merciless follow-up blow. While the scorched examinee screams in agony and the townspeople flee in terror, abandoning them to their fate, Arc steps in while everyone else turns a blind eye, readying his magic for battle.

His opponent hails from one of the strongest schools in the world, whereas Arc has no school at all. Naturally outmatched, he is steadily driven into a corner—until, in the split second before defeat, a final teaching echoes in the back of his mind, heralding the beginning of a brand-new legend!
